🚀 How to install
Open the Chrome Web Store listing
Click "Add to Chrome" on the extension page.
Confirm the installation
Click "Add extension" in the popup dialog that appears.
Visit mobile.de and search
Sponsored listings will be hidden automatically. Done.
Pin the extension (optional)
Click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar → pin "Hide Sponsored" to keep the toggle always visible.
The extension isn't hiding sponsored listings — what do I do?
First, make sure the toggle in the extension popup is switched ON (it defaults to on after install).
If it's on but listings still appear, mobile.de may have updated their page structure. Please report it using the contact button below and we'll push a fix promptly.
You can also try refreshing the page after confirming the toggle is active.
Does this work on the mobile.de app?
No — Chrome extensions only work in the Chrome desktop browser. The extension has no effect on the mobile.de iOS or Android app.
Will it hide regular (non-sponsored) listings?
No. The extension only hides listings that contain a data-testid="sponsored-badge" element — the exact badge mobile.de injects into promoted listings. Organic results are never touched.
Can I temporarily turn it off?
Yes. Click the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar and flip the toggle to OFF. Sponsored listings will reappear immediately and your preference will be remembered the next time you visit.
Does the extension collect any data?
No. The extension collects zero user data. The only thing stored is your on/off preference, saved locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local. Nothing is ever sent to any server. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
Why does it need host permission for mobile.de?
Chrome requires a host permission for any extension that runs a content script on a website. The permission for *.mobile.de/* allows the extension to inject its CSS rule into mobile.de pages. It cannot read, transmit, or store anything about the pages you visit.
Does it work on all mobile.de pages?
The extension is active on all *.mobile.de pages. Sponsored listings only appear on search result pages, so that's where you'll notice the effect.
How do I uninstall it?
Right-click the extension icon in Chrome's toolbar → "Remove from Chrome". Or go to chrome://extensions, find "Hide Sponsored for mobile.de", and click "Remove".
